Living Hope International Ministries

                 LHIM began as an international evangelistic outreach of Gospel Express Ministries. In 1996 Gospel Express was invited to Ghana, Africa to hold village evangelistic crusades through which a number of churches were planted. This also brought an awareness of the many needs for medical assistance, orphan care, discipleship training, and hope for AIDS victims.

              
   A board of directors was formed in 2003 to oversee this international ministry in Ghana, Africa. The ministry was named Living Hope International Ministries and remains a group extension of Gospel Express Ministries with headquarters in Arthur, IL.

In 2004 land was purchased to begin building the first children’s home. By 2006 two homes were built and occupied. Seeing the need to establish a family style setting in their own culture, Ghanaian house parents were moved into the homes to nurture and teach the children. American volunteers as well as several hired Ghanaian ladies assist with childcare and other household duties. Also in 2006, a school building was constructed and ready for the children to begin school in early 2007.

Over the years, many people have come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior through the many open doors for ministry in Ghana, Africa. 

The purpose of this ministry, in obedience to the Great Commission, shall be to:

1.  Evangelize, by helping those without Christ to know his love, experience His forgiveness of sins and to become a part of His eternal kingdom and family.

2.  Make disciples, by baptizing, teaching, and encouraging these new believers.

3.  Edify, support, and supply resources for native pastors, staff, and fellow Christians.

4.  Meet humanitarian needs through medical assistance, food distribution, and provision of homes for orphans.

5.  Plant churches in villages through evangelistic crusades.
